10th Visit completed: Koryun Manukyan from SESAME spent 4 weeks at SOLEIL

Koryun Manukyan is member of the Machine Physics section of SESAME in Jordan. He spent four full weeks (from 21 August to 15 September) with the Accelerator Physics group of SOLEIL as a training period in the context of the OPEN SESAME project.

Manukyan had the opportunity to participate in the starting up of the 2.75 GeV third generation synchrotron light source SOLEIL after the summer shutdown and to carry on beam-based experiments (linear optics optimization and characterization of the non-linear beam dynamics). He also contributed to simulation studies: parametric studies of the reduction of the coupling using LOCO and IntraBeam Scattering simulations. He got trained in several accelerator simulation codes.
